The Waihōanga Centre for Well-being is currently divided into two main conceptual & physical areas.

The first level consists of the Community house and land which also includes the meditation space and the other consists of the Lodge where all of the workshops and retreats are held.

The Community Area

 The Community Area is set up for the residents and guests, (both full and part-time) that are living and working on the land. This includes the following:


  • The Community House
This is the 'working hub'of village life.  Residents and non-residents come together here to, share meals, share planning/ideas & laughter, have office space and welcome all visitors and enquiries.

    • Meditation Yurt
      This yurt is available to all people living and retreating on the land and is a sacred space which is offered with the intention of supporting people to connect with a deeper part of themselves.  All religious and non-religious orientations are welcome here for meditation, yoga, prayer, silence, being, contemplation etc

        • Short-term accommodation, Cabins & WWOOFers (willing workers on organic farms) accommodation
          The Centre has some cabins to accommodate Wwoofers and personal guests staying at Waihoanga


          • Organic Farm/ Gardens/ Orchards
          The land and gardens are currently being established and have the long term intention of being planted for self-sufficiency, income generation, education, service and connection with nature. Waihoanga`s long term aim is to produce a majority of its own food on site both being available to feed and nourish the Community Residents and for catering for workshops and retreats.  As well as being open for a variety of 'hands on' educational purposes, the land and gardens are available for people to be of service in, if they choose during their stay at Waihoanga.

          • Retreat, Education & Event Facilities
          This facility is purposely designed with the intention of offering a clear space to rent out for retreats, events, gatherings, training's and education. It consists of a large Macracarpa Lodge with four bedrooms , a hall, amenities and full kitchen with also four outside cabins. The lodge has the capacity to sleep a total of approx. 36 people


          • Meditation Yurt

          • High & Low Ropes Adventure Course
          This can be hired on its own, with fully qualified instructors provided or provide your own. When using the course, you have full access to the river for swimming and picnics.
